ZRA — Nationwide CCTV System Deployment

Project Overview

This project involved strengthening the security and monitoring capabilities of multiple Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) facilities through the deployment of a modern CCTV surveillance system. The system was designed, supplied, and installed to provide high-definition video monitoring across several key ZRA locations, including Lusaka Port, Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Kabwe, Livingstone, Mongu, Chipata, Chanida, Katima Mulilo and Chinsali.

The solution included the installation of high-definition CCTV cameras with a minimum resolution of 4MP, supported by network video recorders with up to 8TB of storage capacity. A combination of bullet, dome, PTZ, and ANPR cameras was used to ensure comprehensive coverage of indoor areas, perimeters, and vehicle entry points. Structured Cat6e cabling and network infrastructure were deployed to connect the systems at each site, enabling reliable IP-based communication and remote access.

Recording was enabled at each facility and integrated with centralized video storage and monitoring systems at ZRA Headquarters in Lusaka. This allowed authorized personnel to access live video feeds, review archived footage, and manage the system through configured user permissions for live view, playback, and administration. Monitoring stations equipped with 42-inch display units were also set up to support effective surveillance and system control.

In addition to system deployment, technical training was provided to ICT staff and security officers , along with practical on-site training for control room personnel. The portfolio also included comprehensive post-installation maintenance and support with a 12-month warranty.

Through this implementation, ZRA significantly improved its ability to monitor facilities in real time, enhance the security of critical infrastructure, and respond quickly to incidents across multiple border posts and regional offices.
